Τα Επτάνησα είναι ένα σύνολο νησιών του Ιονίου Πελάγους κατά μήκος των δυτικών ακτών της Ελλάδας. Περιλαμβάνουν την Κέρκυρα, τη Ζάκυνθο, την Ιθάκη, την Κεφαλλονιά, τα Κύθηρα, τη Λευκάδα, τους Παξούς, καθώς και μερικά μικρότερα νησιά όπως τον Κάλαμο,το Μεγανήσι και το διάσημο Σκορπιό της οικογένειας Ωνάση.Χαρακτηριστικό τους είναι η πλούσια βλάστηση και οι υπέροχες δαντελωτές ακτές με τα καταπληκτικά γαλαζοπράσινα νερά τους, που δεν έχουν τίποτα να ζηλέψουν από τις παραλίες διάσημων εξωτικών νησιών. Η ιστορία τους,τα πατροπαράδοτα έθιμά τους,η εκλεκτή κουζίνα τους, γοητεύουν τους επισκέπτες.Η οικονομία των Επτανήσων στηρίζεται κυρίως στη γεωργία, που διαφέρει από νησί σε νησί.Καλλιεργούνται ελαιόδεντρα, αμυγδαλιές, εσπεριδοειδή και αμπέλια. Αξιόλογη, όμως, πηγή εισοδήματος για τα περισσότερα νησιά, αποτελεί και ο τουρισμός. The group of Ionian Islands on the west part of Greece are famous as tourist destinations because of their lovely beaches, rich culture and variety in hotels. The Archipelago of the islands in Ionion combining the crowds of package tourism and individual travellers in perfect harmony stands proudly in nobility. The local culture and especially Corfu has been strongly influenced by western Europe, Italy, especially Venice, Britain and France.
